Installation of Solidworks to Abaqus Plugin and importing the model in solidworks for Windows
1. Go to the installation directory of solidworks “C:\Program Files\SolidWorks Corp\SolidWorks”
2. Right click on Solidworks.exe and select Run as Administrator
3. In SolidWorks window File – Open
4. Select from the drop down, the file type “Add-Ins (*dll)
5. Browse to the Sw2AbqPlugin_64_VX.X.dll and open the file
6. If it installed properly you can find an icon in top left corner and the corresponding line item in Addins
7. Open Abaqus CAE
8. Set the Modude to “Assembly”
9. Click on Tools – CAD Interfaces - SolidWorks
10. Click on enable
11. Open the required part or assembly on solidworks and click the abaqus icon on top left corner of soliworks
12. The model will be imported in Abaqus
something such as an Panosonic Toughbook this has the serial ports ect and is a fully rugged laptop. they are hard to get hold of so i would suggest eBay. you could also try ITronics

ReplyDeletebut be aware that to let the plugin work, you need to open solidwork as administrator... every time you want to use it...
After downloading "Sw2AbqPlugin_64_VX.X.dll" what should I do with it?

You can open it using SolidWorks, with dll selected as file type. This is how you install an add-in in SolidWorks
